The Association of American Publishers (AAP) has announced that Matthew Barblan will join AAP as Vice President, Public Policy, beginning August 27, 2018. Barblan is currently Executive Director of the Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property (CPIP) and Assistant Professor of Law at George Mason University.
During his five-year tenure at CPIP and George Mason, Barblan has taught courses on copyright and trademark law and overseen a wide range of academic and policy programs addressing copyright's important role in fostering successful creative industries.
As part of the senior team at AAP, Barblan will be active on a variety of business, law, and technology issues in the United States and abroad, involving a broad spectrum of industry experts, thought leaders and partner communities.
AAP represents the leading book, journal, and education publishers in the United States on matters of law and policy, advocating for outcomes that incentivise the publication of creative expression, professional content, and learning solutions.
