AAP Issues call for entries for 2020 PROSE Awards -

The Association of American Publishers 2020 PROSE Awards, which recognise outstanding scholarly books, journals, and e-products, are open for entries through November 15, 2019. The awards recognise the very best scholarly works published in the United States in the arts, humanities, biological and physical sciences, reference, and social sciences. These works must have secured a 2019 copyright notice.

Since 1976, the AAP’s PROSE Awards have recognised publishers who produce books, journals, and digital products of extraordinary merit that make a significant contribution to a field of study.

For 2020, a panel of judges will review entries for overall excellence in scholarly publishing in dozens of subject categories. Winners from each subject category will go on to compete for the industry’s coveted R.R. Hawkins Award.

Publishers who are members of the AAP or the Association of University Presses (AUPresses) are encouraged to submit their outstanding published works that were copyrighted in 2019 no later than November 15, 2019 to be considered for a 2020 PROSE Award. There is no maximum limit to submissions per publisher in any category. Finalists in each subject category will be announced in early 2020 and winners will be formally recognised.
