The Association of American Publishers (AAP) has opened submissions for the 2026 PROSE Awards, which recognize outstanding professional and scholarly works published in the United States.
Entries will be accepted between September 22 and November 10 for works with a 2025 copyright. The awards honor excellence across five categories: Biological and Life Sciences, Humanities, Physical Sciences and Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Reference Works.
Publishers may also compete for a series of excellence awards and the top honor, the R.R. Hawkins Award.
The PROSE Awards, established in 1976, are open to publishers that are members of AAP or the Association of University Presses. Each entry requires a $115 fee. The program has long highlighted influential scholarly contributions across disciplines and remains a leading recognition of publishing excellence in the field.
