The Association of American Publishers (AAP) has welcomed the newly-released U.S. Department of Commerce's Internet Policy Task Force 'White Paper on Remixes, First Sale, and Statutory Damages.' It offers well-reasoned conclusions and recommendations that reflect a thorough analysis of diverse stakeholder views on these issues of current copyright law.
According to Allan Adler, AAP's General Counsel, The White Paper's conclusions and recommendations clearly took into account all relevant perspectives from its massive record of public comment on its earlier 'Green Paper' on 'Copyright Policy, Creativity, and Innovation in the Digital Economy.' The White Paper offers collaborative and primarily non-legislative solutions for reconciling disputes regarding how to best move forward with copyright policy on the three key issues considered.
