ACM launches inaugural issue of the Proceedings of the ACM on Software Engineering -

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has announced the publication of the inaugural issue of Proceedings of the ACM on Software Engineering (PACMSE), a new Gold Open Access journal dedicated to the field of software engineering. This journal aims to publish high-quality, original research covering a comprehensive range of software engineering topics, from requirements elicitation to quality assessment, design, maintenance, evolution, and deployment.

PACMSE is designed to support the entire software development lifecycle, addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of software engineering for various platforms including embedded systems, cloud-based solutions, mobile and ubiquitous computing, and traditional computer systems.

Operating in close collaboration with the ACM Special Interest Group on Software Engineering (SIGSOFT), PACMSE will feature a curated selection of papers announced through publicized calls for submissions. This collaboration ensures that the journal maintains high standards of quality and relevance within the software engineering community.

The editorial team of PACMSE, led by Editor-in-Chief Luciano Baresi, is comprised of experts from around the globe, including representatives from Argentina, Canada, China, Greece, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The team includes four Senior Editors, two Associate Editors, an Information Director, and an eight-member Advisory Board, ensuring a diverse and comprehensive editorial oversight.

ACM, known for publishing over 70 scholarly peer-reviewed journals across various computing and information technology disciplines, continues its tradition of fostering innovation and rapid dissemination of new research through PACMSE. ACM’s extensive archive of high-impact journals serves as a valuable resource for both emerging and established research in the computing field.
