The American Chemical Society (ACS) has invited students, faculty and interested members of the public to ACS on Campus at Cornell University on April 20, 2012 in Clark Hall.
The event will debut new ACS on Campus content. Seminars will explore communicating science to the general public, how to successfully tackle National Science Foundation (NSF) grants, how to get a manuscript published and more. The events are free, but registration is required.
ACS on Campus is a Library Relations initiative that began in 2010 to raise the profile of the campus science/chemistry librarian through a series of campus events. Since then, it has become the Society's cross-divisional campus outreach programme bringing resources from ACS Publications, Chemical Abstracts Service, Membership & Scientific Advancement and Education to over 20 campuses domestically and internationally.
Students participate in seminars on the basics of peer review, ethics in scholarly communications, career building and development and effective use of ACS Web tools like SciFinder, the ACS Network and the Web Editions Platform.
