ACS names Dr. John A. Gladysz as new Editor-in-Chief of Organometallics -

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced the appointment of Dr. John A. Gladysz, professor of chemistry and holder of the Dow Chair in Chemical Invention at Texas A&M University, as the new Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Organometallics. He succeeds Dr. Dietmar Seyferth, an emeritus chemistry professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, who has served as editor since helping to found the journal in 1982.

With the help of his associate editors, Gladysz says, he plans to strengthen the journal's position as the go-to source for cutting-edge research and the latest developments in the field. He hopes to introduce new cover graphics for each issue and to tap the full intellectual power of the editorial board to identify new directions for the journal, including possible themed issues.

Organometallics records progress in one of the most active fields for organometallic, inorganic, organic and materials chemists. Articles, communications, mini-reviews, and notes detail the synthesis, structure, bonding, chemical reactivity and reaction mechanisms, and applications of organometallic and organometalloidal compounds. Applications coverage includes organic and polymer synthesis, catalytic processes, and synthetic aspects of materials science and solid-state chemistry.
