Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that ACT Health, the body responsible for health services in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), has chosen to implement the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution at the Canberra Hospital library to provide medical information for doctors, nurses, and allied health clinicians. These solutions will replace the library's Innovative Interfaces Millennium integrated library system (ILS).
ACT Health chose the Alma and Primo solutions primarily for their cloud-based platform and customizable design. The service and support reputation of Ex Libris also played a major role in the decision.
Canberra Hospital, in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), is the main hospital of ACT Health, providing a comprehensive range of services, such as acute inpatient and day services, outpatient services, and pathology services. Community-based care is provided from various venues across the ACT, as well as in people's homes.
