Scientific publisher AGU has joined forces with the esteemed Geological Society of London to introduce an open access book series titled GeoHorizons, dedicated to addressing pivotal themes within the geosciences field.
The newly announced series invites submissions for book proposals, emphasizing solution-oriented scientific endeavors that tackle the multifaceted challenges confronting humanity and the environment through a geosciences lens. A fundamental aspect of GeoHorizons is to showcase the diverse work of scientists from various demographics, geographical locations, professional backgrounds, and career stages.
AGU, renowned for its 24 peer-reviewed journals spanning Earth and space sciences, including domains like space weather, tectonics, and water resources, is stepping into book publishing through this collaborative effort with the Geological Society. With a history dating back to 1956 and over 700 titles catering to research, education, learning, and professional development, AGU's foray into the open access book series, GeoHorizons, is an extension of its commitment to open access content.
AGU and the Geological Society plan to work collaboratively on the commissioning and marketing of new titles, while the Geological Society Publishing House will provide a comprehensive publishing service covering editorial management, peer review, content hosting, and distribution.
The collaboration between AGU and the Geological Society represents a significant leap forward in open access scientific publishing, envisioning an era of inclusivity and shared knowledge in the geosciences community.
