AI technology leader Dr. Gopichand Katragadda assumes role as President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology -

Dr. Gopichand Katragadda, an accomplished Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert, has been appointed as the 142nd President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). His historic appointment makes him the first Indian to assume the presidency of the IET, a global engineering institution with a rich legacy.

Dr. Gopichand Katragadda, an AI visionary, is also the Founder of Myelin Foundry, a prominent AI company focused on reshaping human experiences and industry outcomes through innovative technologies.

In addition to his role at Myelin Foundry, Dr. Gopichand serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Bosch India Limited and ICICI Securities. He is also a member of the governing council for the Centre of Excellence for Data Science and AI at NASSCOM, further showcasing his profound expertise in AI and technology leadership.

His term as President officially commenced on October 1, 2023, succeeding Professor Bob Cryan CBE, Vice Chancellor and CEO of the University of Huddersfield.

The IET, a prestigious institution, has been led by notable figures in the engineering and technology industry, including luminaries such as Sir Robin Saxby, Founder and Former CEO of ARM Holdings, and Naomi Climer CBE, former Vice-President of Sony Professional Solutions Europe and Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Institute of Work.

During his presidency, Dr. Gopichand Katragadda will collaborate closely with the IET to set organizational goals and steer advancements in engineering and technology within society. He will represent the IET at various events and conferences, advocating for its interests in society.

Dr. Gopichand will also play a vital role in supporting the continuous professional development of IET members and participate in initiatives aimed at advancing innovation and research in the engineering community, particularly in the field of AI.
