AIP Publishing and Jisc sign three-year agreement to expand open access in the UK -

AIP Publishing (AIPP) and Jisc have entered into a three‑year AIP Fusion agreement that expands open access publishing opportunities for researchers across the United Kingdom. The agreement also provides participating institutions with streamlined access to AIP Publishing’s subscription content.

The arrangement includes 29 institutions and reflects a shared commitment by both organizations to advance open research and increase the visibility of scientific scholarship.

Jisc, the UK’s digital and data agency for higher education and research, negotiates publishing models at a national scale and works with universities and research organizations to expand access to scholarly content. Anna Vernon, Head of Research Licensing at Jisc, stated that the agreement strengthens pathways to sustainable open access publishing and ensures continued access to scholarly material.

The agreement adds to AIP Publishing’s network of transformative partnerships, which now covers 384 institutions and consortia across 24 countries. Researchers at participating institutions will benefit from increased opportunities to share their work openly, fostering collaboration and innovation in the physical sciences and related fields.

AIP Fusion combines reading access and open access publishing in a single agreement. Eligible articles can be published open access in AIP Publishing’s full journal portfolio without individual article processing charges (APCs). The model is designed to simplify the publishing process, reduce administrative burdens, and allow researchers to focus on disseminating their findings to wider audiences.
