AIP Publishing has joined OA Switchboard, a community infrastructure designed to enable standardized exchange of open access publication metadata between publishers, research institutions, and funding organizations. Through participation in the network, AIP Publishing will provide publication metadata through OA Switchboard, including author affiliation, funder information, and licensing details.
The integration will also support institutions participating in AIP Publishing’s open access programs, including AIP Fusion. AIP Fusion is described as a services-based, single-fee model that provides unlimited reading access and unlimited publishing without article processing charges (APCs).
Through the OA Switchboard integration, standardized publication data can be delivered to institutions to track publishing activity covered under these agreements. The sharing of publication metadata through the Switchboard also supports a more connected and transparent open access ecosystem involving publishers, research institutions, and funding organizations.
