AIP Publishing has unveiled plans to expand its open access portfolio with the launch of APL Engineering Physics, a gold open access journal dedicated to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of physics and engineering. Submissions will open in mid-2025, with the inaugural issue expected by the end of that year.
APL Engineering Physics aims to become a premier platform for studies analyzing the physical phenomena driving technological innovations and exploring physics-based approaches to complex engineering challenges. The journal will highlight advancements in fields such as materials science, photonics, energy solutions, and quantum technology.
APL Engineering Physics will join the prestigious Applied Physics Letters (APL) family, which includes journals such as APL Materials, APL Photonics, APL Quantum, and APL Energy. Known for their rigorous standards and scholarly impact, the APL journals have been a cornerstone of applied physics research for more than six decades.
The search for APL Engineering Physics’ inaugural editor-in-chief is currently underway. The selected leader will shape the journal’s vision and ensure it upholds the APL tradition of excellence.
