The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®) is excited to announce a call for manuscript submissions for its 15th annual Health Information Technology (IT) Special Issue, with a submission deadline of July 31, 2025. This special issue, slated for publication in January 2026, will be guest-edited by Nate Apathy, Ph.D., an assistant professor of health policy and management at the University of Maryland.
The issue will cover a broad range of topics related to the application of health IT, including the use of AI and machine learning in care management, the intersection of health IT with regulatory and payment policies, and the growing role of health IT in population health management. Other areas of focus will include reducing clinical and administrative burdens, improving interoperability, and exploring patient-facing technologies like telemedicine and patient portals.
Dr. Apathy, who has previously contributed to AJMC®'s Health IT issues, is renowned for his research on how health IT supports delivery and payment reform, as well as its impact on care quality. His work has been published in top journals such as JAMA Internal Medicine and Health Affairs.
