Allen Press to host sixth annual Best Practices and Innovative Solutions webinar series -

Publishing services provider Allen Press, Inc., US, will host the sixth annual Best Practices and Innovative Solutions webinar series beginning this June. These six one-hour webinars, designed for societies, associations, and publishers, will be presented monthly beginning June 12 and ending November 20.

Attendees can learn how to develop a communications plan to gain new exposure for a journal’s subject matter in the June 12 webinar, Communicating and Promoting Science to the Public to Increase Awareness and Media Buzz. This webinar will provide authors with methods to promote articles and attract new audiences.

Advertising Sales in a Multi-Channel Market will take place on July 17. This webinar will include strategies for setting realistic revenue expectations, establishing pricing, and conveying customer value for print and digital products using metrics to develop effective sales strategies.

On August 14, the third webinar, Simplifying Membership Options and Dues Structures, will cover best practices for creating a clear, concise membership offering as well as the benefits for different membership types.

The fourth webinar, Maximizing the Value of Print: Best Practices for Job Planning, will cover everything from colour placement and signature breakdown to workflow changes you can make to capitalise on your print investment before your publication hits the plate. This webinar will be presented on September 18.

On October 16, the fifth webinar, Journal Supplements: Rewards and Risks, will look at the pros and cons of publishing supplements. This webinar will include real-world case studies and a list of factors to consider when publishing supplements.

The last webinar of the series will take place on November 20. Establishing an Ethics Policy for Your Journal will provide participants with the building blocks to write an ethics policy of their own. Additionally, participants will learn how to make authors and contributors aware of guidelines before they publish and how to make sure the policies are enforced consistently.

All webinars will be led by Allen Press’ professional staff. All sessions will be held at 11:00 a.m. Central Time.
