ALPSP and Cambridge University Press’ new award for university presses addresses global challenges -

A new prize has been launched to recognise the work of university press publishers in addressing important global issues.

The Association of Learned & Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) and Cambridge University Press will announce the results of the inaugural University Press Redux Sustainability Award at the Redux 2020 Conference to be held in Cambridge from March 17-18, 2020.

The award will be given to an initiative, publication, product or project aimed at addressing one or more of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Among other things, these cover poverty, equality, the environment, and the pressing need to make real progress towards a sustainable and equitable future.

This year’s Redux Conference is being hosted and curated by Cambridge University Press and will address the question: what is the role of a university press in 2020?

A biennial event, the conference gives delegates an international view of the many and varied aspects of university press publishing from presses large and small, new and old, as well as from the many associated industries and organisations.

The conference will take place at Churchill College, Cambridge, from March 17-18, and the closing date for award submissions is January 15, 2020.
