ALPSP announces winners of 2026 University Press Rising Star Award -

The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers has announced the winners of the ALPSP University Press Rising Star Award 2026.

The recipients are Grace Balfour-Harle, Senior Desk Editor at Edinburgh University Press; Heather Ramsay, Senior Marketing Executive at Edinburgh University Press; and Alice Tradewell, Books Marketing Assistant at Liverpool University Press.

Sponsored by Publishers’ Licensing Services, the University Press Rising Star Award recognizes early-career individuals from ALPSP member organizations who show exceptional promise. As part of the nomination process, colleagues were invited to submit up to 500 words explaining why their nominee should receive the recognition.

The three winners will receive a free in-person place at the ALPSP University Press Redux Conference, along with support toward travel and hotel costs. After the event, they will be invited to write a short reflection of 500 to 1000 words on their experience for publication on the ALPSP blog or website.

This year’s ALPSP University Press Redux Conference will take place at The Spine in Liverpool, UK, on March 17–18, where the Rising Star winners will be formally presented with their awards.
