The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), US, has announced the appointment of Isabel Czech as Executive Director, North America, with immediate effect. ALPSP has an active North American Chapter and Czech has been appointed to help support the rapidly growing membership in North America and assist in the coordination and development of the Chapter's programme of educational events.
Czech spent more than 30 years at ISI / Thomson Scientific (now a part of Thomson Reuters), where she helped create and develop the Publisher Relations division. She has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences around the world. She also served on the Board of the Society for Scholarly Publishing, and is on the editorial board of the international journal Learned Publishing.
The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP), the international trade association for scholarly and professional publishers, has over 350 organisational members in 37 countries who collectively publish over 10,000 journals as well as books, databases and other products. The association seeks to connect, train and inform the scholarly and professional publishing community and to be an advocate on behalf of the non-profit publishing sector.
