The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishing (ALPSP) has announced a collaboration with the UK Publishers Association (PA) on an ALPSP branded version of the PA's Copyright Infringement Portal.
It has been observed that Illegal distribution of in-copyright material via websites and peer-to-peer file sharing is becoming an ever greater concern to scholarly and professional publishers. The PA has developed an online Copyright Infringement Portal to streamline the process of serving take-down notices and to give an overview of where infringement is taking place.
Use of the portal is expected to give the industry a huge advantage in dealing with infringers. Channeling notice and take downs through one portal is seen to give cross-publisher insight into where infringement is taking place, making it possible to determine the most appropriate action with individual websites and Internet service providers.
PA is now offering the ALPSP branded version of the website at a 50 percent discount to ALPSP members.
