Ambulatory Pediatrics changes name to Academic Pediatrics, announces new Editor-in-Chief -

Ambulatory Pediatrics, published by STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that it has changed its name to Academic Pediatrics as of the January 2009 issue. The journal also announced that Dr. Peter Szilagyi will serve as the new Editor-in-Chief of the journal. He succeeds Dr. James M. Perrin.

A peer-reviewed publication Academic Pediatrics seeks to strengthen the research and educational base of academic general pediatrics. Each bi-monthly issue presents authoritative articles; delivers important research relating to the quality of child health care, health care policy, and the organisation of child health services; and serves as an active forum for the presentation of pediatric educational research in diverse settings. The journal is the official publication of the Academic Pediatric Association (APA).

The Academic Pediatric Association fosters the health of all children and adolescents in their families and communities through education, research, patient care, and advocacy. It strives to be recognised globally for innovation and leadership in creating and disseminating new knowledge and in enhancing health care and educational programmes.
