The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) has unveiled its latest addition to the Neurology® family of journals: Neurology® Open Access. This new peer-reviewed, online-only publication will provide free, global access to original research, reviews, case reports, and study protocols across all areas of neurology and clinical neurosciences.
The mission of Neurology® Open Access is to enhance patient care and promote brain health by offering high-quality, peer-reviewed research that informs clinical decision-making, supports policymakers, and advances scientific knowledge. Articles will be published on a continuous basis, with compiled online issues released quarterly.
Dr. Amy Kunchok has been named the inaugural editor of Neurology® Open Access. Dr. Kunchok, a neurologist at the Cleveland Clinic and Associate Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University, also directs the Autoimmune Neurology Program and serves as Associate Program Director of the Neuroimmunology Fellowship. Her research specializes in autoimmune neurological disorders and demyelinating diseases.
Dr. Kunchok brings extensive editorial experience, having previously served on the boards of Neurology® and Neurology® Neuroimmunology & Neuroinflammation.
Neurology® Open Access joins the AAN’s prestigious collection of journals, which includes the flagship Neurology®, as well as subspecialty titles: Neurology® Clinical Practice, Neurology® Genetics, Neurology® Neuroimmunology & Neuroinflammation, and Neurology® Education.
By launching Neurology® Open Access, the AAN reaffirms its commitment to advancing neurology research and fostering innovation in the field.
