American Anthropological Association appoints Dr. Elizabeth Chin as Editor-in-Chief of American Anthropologist -

American Anthropological Association (AAA) has announced the appointment of Dr. Elizabeth Chin as editor-in-chief for its flagship journal American Anthropologist (AA), effective July 1, 2020. The AAA Executive Board has made this appointment based on the innovative plans she presented to the international search committee, and the alignment of her editorial vision with the Association’s core publishing values of quality, breadth, accessibility, and sustainability.

Dr. Chin, a professor at Pasadena’s ArtCenter College of Design, teaches in the Media Design Practices MFA program. Her scholarly work spans a variety of topics, including race and consumption. Dr. Chin also engages marginalised youth in collaboratively taking on the complexities of the world around them.

Published quarterly, American Anthropologist reaches tens of thousands of researchers through more than 4,000 institutional subscribers worldwide, and one million articles downloads annually. American Anthropologist publishes articles that add to, integrate, synthesise and interpret anthropological knowledge; commentaries and essays on issues of importance to the discipline; and reviews of books, films, sound recordings, exhibits and websites.
