American Association for Cancer Research launches cancer prevention journal -

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) recently launched a new peer-reviewed scientific journal - Cancer Prevention Research. The journal claims to be the world's first peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated solely to the topic of cancer prevention.

Cancer Prevention Research focuses on building a translational bridge between the basic and clinical sciences in the field of cancer prevention. It seeks to serve as a forum for perspectives on key public policy issues affecting cancer prevention, and will highlight the central role of cancer prevention and early detection in public health. With the new journal, the AACR hopes to unify many different kinds of cancer prevention research into one publication.

The AACR is both the oldest and largest cancer research organisation in the world. In addition to the new , the association also publishes five other peer-reviewed journals - Cancer Research; Clinical Cancer Research; Molecular Cancer Therapeutics; Molecular Cancer Research; and Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. The association also publishes CR, a magazine where cancer patients, survivors, and their physicians, families and friends can share information on cancer research and advocacy.
