American Cancer Society launches Pediatric, Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Journal, appoints Editor-in-Chief -

The American Cancer Society (ACS) has announced the launch of its fourth medical journal, Pediatric, Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer. The publication is an international, multidisciplinary, open-access journal that will publish peer-reviewed original research and solicited content on cancers affecting children, adolescents, and young adults (AYA).

According to the announcement, the journal is intended to support work related to prevention, early detection, treatment, and survivorship in pediatric and adolescent and young adult oncology.

The society also announced that Dr. Nirali N. Shah has been named the inaugural editor-in-chief. The release identified Dr. Shah as head of the hematologic malignancies section in the pediatric oncology branch at the National Cancer Institute and her research focuses on targeted immunotherapies for high-risk blood cancers in children, adolescents, and young adults, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell and antibody-based therapies.

The journal, according to the announcement, will focus on sharing discoveries across oncology; novel treatment approaches, prevention strategies, and epidemiologic studies; AI-driven insights and bioinformatics; and efforts related to cancer care and outcomes worldwide. The journal will be published quarterly, with the first issue planned for late summer.
