American Chemical Society names Dr. William B. Tolman as Editor-in-Chief of Inorganic Chemistry journal -

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. William (Bill) B. Tolman will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of Inorganic Chemistry in January 2013. Dr. Tolman is the chair of the department of chemistry at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, and currently serves as an Associate Editor of Inorganic Chemistry.

Tolman will succeed Dr. Richard Eisenberg, who will retire from the journal at the end of this year. Dr. Eisenberg has served as Editor-in-Chief of Inorganic Chemistry since 2001. He will assist with the transition and remain with the journal in his current role through the end of 2012.

Inorganic Chemistry publishes fundamental studies in all phases of inorganic chemistry. Coverage includes experimental and theoretical reports on quantitative studies of structure and thermodynamics, kinetics, mechanisms of inorganic reactions, bioinorganic chemistry and relevant aspects of organometallic chemistry, solid-state phenomena and chemical bonding theory. Emphasis is placed on the synthesis, structure, thermodynamics, reactivity, spectroscopy and bonding properties of significant new and known compounds. Inorganic Chemistry is the most cited journal in Inorganic Chemistry and has an Impact Factor of 4.601, as reported by the 2011 Journal Citation Reports.
