American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) has appointed Radi Masri as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Prosthodontics (JoP), effective July 1.
Masri is a clinician, lecturer, and a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and School of Medicine. Masri's first ever published research appeared in the JoP almost 17 years ago. Since then he has done extensive research on complex issues like the effect of chronic pain on brain activity, the use of nanotechnology in dental disease treatment, and techniques to improve wound healing.
For the past four years, Masri has been the Associate Editor-in-Chief of the JoP, under retiring Editor-in-Chief David Felton. During that time the JoP steadily gained prominence in the dental community, increasing its rank by 35 positions, to now be ranked 35th out of 91 dental journals.
As Editor-in-Chief, Masri will encourage more in-depth research connecting contemporary prosthodontics to a person's overall health.
The JoP publishes nine, 95-page issues a year with additional content available online, including an upcoming virtual issue featuring innovative research on overdentures.
