American Heart Association set to launch fourth title under Circulation banner -

The American Heart Association has announced the forthcoming launch of a new title - Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions. The journal is the fourth in a series of six new titles to be published under the banner of Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association. Dr. David P. Faxon, Director of strategic planning in the department of medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, has been named editor of the journal.

Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions, scheduled for launch in August, aims to present the highest-quality original research from all areas of interventional cardiology - including coronary artery disease, such as angioplasty and stents; structural heart disease, including valvular and congenital heart disease; and vascular disease, including peripheral, aortic, renal and cerebral vascular disease. Priority will be placed on original research and on randomised trials and large registry studies that significantly advance the field.

In addition, the journal will feature timely reviews of cutting-edge advances, cardiac physiology and pathophysiology relevant to clinical practice and expert viewpoints on current controversies in interventional cardiology. Letters to the editors and imaging and case studies will provide a unique forum for the global interventional cardiology community.
