American Library Association opens registration for 2025 LibLearnX Conference in Phoenix, AZ -

The American Library Association (ALA) has officially opened registration for the 2025 LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience, set to take place from January 24-27, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Alongside registration, the ALA has also launched the Preliminary Program, offering details on the conference's agenda.

LibLearnX is a dynamic, four-day learning event that welcomes both ALA members and non-members to engage in interactive education, networking, and celebratory activities. Designed to foster active learning, the event will feature a broad range of educational programs, organized by library professionals and delivered in four unique learning formats, covering six core content areas.

The Preliminary Program outlines the education sessions, daily schedules, and featured speakers, with additional agenda items to be announced. Detailed biographies of the event’s keynote speakers and information on their books can be found on the official conference website.

The event’s LLX Marketplace will spotlight exhibitors showcasing the latest titles, innovative technologies, and essential services for libraries. Attendees will also have the chance to participate in the Ideas Xchange sessions, where they can collaborate and discuss creative projects in a peer-to-peer setting.

Celebrations at LibLearnX will honor librarians, authors, and literary achievements, including the “I Love My Librarian Awards,” the ALA Youth Media Awards, and the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Sunrise Celebration. The Book and Media Awards, along with the Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction, will be streamed virtually.

The ALA Governance Institute (AGI) will return as part of LibLearnX, offering leadership and professional development for library professionals. This session, scheduled for Friday, January 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST, is open to the first 180 registrants.

Additionally, the ALA Gives Back community initiative will resume, with volunteer opportunities at the Burton Barr Central Library in Phoenix.
