American Society of Clinical Oncology launches new Journal of Global Oncology Editorial Fellowship -

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has announced the launch of its new Journal of Global Oncology Editorial Fellowship. The program will provide participants from low- and middle-income countries with an interactive introduction to scientific publishing.

The JGO Editorial Fellowship is currently accepting applications for the program's inaugural 2016 year. Applications are due December 15, 2015, and two fellows will be selected to participate.

Participants of the program will walk through the journal's peer review, editing, and publishing processes alongside current JGO editors and editorial board members. Program activities include the review of select manuscripts, decision-making in cooperation with associate editors, and attendance at JGO editorial meetings, which take place at the ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago.

Participants who complete the program successfully will be expected to impart their acquired knowledge and skills to colleagues, thereby improving the quality of emerging research and scientific manuscripts produced from various regions of the world. Fellows will also be better equipped to serve as reviewers for the journal and be able to provide a valuable local perspective on submitted manuscripts.
