The American Society of Hematology (ASH), a professional organisation dedicated to the study and treatment of blood disorders, has announced that Glenn Landis will assume the position of Editorial Director of Blood, the journal of ASH, effective January 5, 2015.
With more than 13 years of editorial experience at the Journal of Clinical Oncology (JCO), Landis brings extensive knowledge of the peer review process, technology infrastructure standards, and the medical journal community to his role at ASH. He will primarily be responsible for the ongoing review and implementation of the journal's editorial strategy and policies, as well as the overall editorial, peer review, and content aggregation functions of Blood. He will oversee the development of new technologies and products to ensure adherence to industry standards for publication peer review.
In his most recent role as Managing Editor of JCO, Landis supported authors, reviewers, and editors with all aspects of the peer review process to provide authors with clear direction while navigating the submission process. His strong focus on the user experience also allowed him to design and implement improvements to the manuscript tracking system to enhance efficiency and performance.
