Annual Reviews unveils new journal for animal scientists -

Annual Reviews, the non-profit publisher that synthesises critical research literature, has announced the new Annual Review of Animal Biosciences journal. The journal was created to address the enormous wealth of new knowledge brought about by biotechnology, and the characterisation of the genomes and transcriptomes of domesticated and wild animals.

Harris A. Lewin from the University of California, Davis, and R. Michael Roberts from the University of Missouri will serve as the journal's co-editors.

The journal provides experts and non-specialists with comprehensive reviews of significant studies and contemporary advances across animal biology and medicine, animal agriculture, and conservation biology, helping to inform their research and advancing progress in the field. Its interdisciplinary perspective will be invaluable to scientists; practitioners; and all those working to feed a growing population, promote the highest ethical standards in the treatment of animals, and preserve biodiversity on our planet.

Unrestricted online access to the journal is available through February 2014 at http://animal.annualreviews.org. The Annual Reviews team will have additional information about the journal at upcoming events, including UKSG (April 8-10), ACRL (April 10-13), MLA in conjunction with ICAHIS (May 3-8) and SLA (June 9-11).
