The Board of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine's (AOSSM) Medical Publishing Group has announced the selections of Dr. Edward M. Wojtys, Dr. George J. Davies, Dr. Matthew Gammons and Dr. Riann Palmeri-Smith as the founding editors of its forthcoming journal Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach. Dr. Wojtys will be the Editor-in-Chief. While Dr. George Davies will take charge as Associate Editor - Physical Therapy Section, Dr. Gammons and Dr. Smith will serve as Associate Editor - Primary Care Section and Associate Editor - Athletic Training Section respectively.
A bi-monthly publication, Sports Health is slated for launch in January 2009. The journal, aimed at physicians and allied health professionals who work with athletes, is a collaborative publication by AOSSM, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Sports Physical Therapy Section (SPTS) and will be published by SAGE Publications.
Founded in 1972, AOSSM is a national organisation of orthopaedic surgeons dedicated to sports medicine. The Society's members include physicians and allied health professionals who demonstrate scientific leadership, involvement and dedication in the daily practice of sports medicine.
