APA announces significant content additions to its full-text book database PsycBOOKS -

The American Psychological Association has announced significant content additions to its full-text book database PsycBOOKS. Thirty-three new books from the 2014 copyright year have been added as the result of APA eliminating the 12-month embargo previously in place on current titles, plus all current volumes of the rapidly growing APA Handbooks in Psychology® reference book series are now accessible in the PsycBOOKS database. This positive move forward makes PsycBOOKS the most current and comprehensive, chapter-level electronic access option available for APA-published scholarly and professional books.

Going forward, all users of PsycBOOKS - including clinicians, researchers, librarians and students - will have chapter-level, electronic access to APA-published scholarly and professional books as they are released, avoiding the previous 12-month waiting period for access to new APA published books. In addition, users will now enjoy expanded access to the electronic versions of all the volumes that are currently part of the APA Handbooks in Psychology reference series - gaining instant access to the entire collection of reference books. These changes will enable users to immediately discover and benefit from the most current and complete coverage of scholarly and professional books published by APA.

These new titles combined with an extensive backfile of classic, historical, and out-of-print works, makes PsycBOOKS an indispensable resource for institutions and libraries serving psychology, mental health, and behavioural science research. Significant in scope and depth, PsycBOOKS contains centuries of book content that offers the full breadth of knowledge in psychology and related fields—making the collection a fundamental resource for undergraduate education, and a crucial research tool across the behavioural sciences.

PsycBOOKS is now the most comprehensive database of full-text APA scholarly books available. The database includes current and classic peer-reviewed books that provide a pathway through the evolution of psychological thought, offering access to the full scope of knowledge in psychology and related fields. Updated monthly, PsycBOOKS includes the newest scholarly and professional books published by APA. Essential to the work done across the behavioural sciences, PsycBOOKS is also a valuable resource for research in related fields including education, public health, sociology, and more. PsycBOOKS is available for subscription directly from APA on APA PsycNET, and also from EBSCO, Ovid Technologies, and ProQuest.
