APA Publishing releases new titles on psychotherapy and psychiatry -

The American Psychiatric Association Publishing has released several new and updated titles in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Among them is the second edition of “Cognitive-Behavior Therapy for Severe Mental Illness: An Illustrated Guide,” which includes new troubleshooting tools and expanded video demonstrations to assist clinicians in building therapeutic relationships, managing suicide risk, and designing relapse prevention plans.

Also released is Clinician Technique in Personalized Psychotherapy, authored by Mardi J. Horowitz, which provides strategies for strengthening therapeutic alliances, addressing defensive behaviors, managing patient impulses, and overcoming challenges associated with narcissistic traits.

Later this year, the publisher will release the fourth edition of the Handbook of Medicine in Psychiatry, a practical resource edited by Peter Manu, Ava-Dawn Gabbidon, and Eugene Grudnikoff. The updated volume emphasizes interdisciplinary care and addresses medical conditions prevalent among psychiatric patients, including metabolic disorders.

The second edition of the APA Practice Guideline for the Prevention and Treatment of Delirium is also forthcoming. These publications add to APA Publishing’s portfolio of clinical resources for mental health professionals.
