APA seeks nominations for 2011 APA Excellence in Librarianship Award -

The American Psychological Association (APA) is seeking nominations for the 2011 APA Excellence in Librarianship Award. The award will be presented at the Educational & Behavioral Sciences Section (EBSS) Research Forum at the June 2011 American Library Association Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA.

The APA Excellence in Librarianship Award was created to recognise an outstanding contribution to psychology and behavioural sciences librarianship within the past 5 years, and consists of a $2,500 cheque and an inscribed plaque. The Award is open to both librarians and allied professionals with at least 5 years of professional experience.

Nominations are now being accepted, and should include a résumé or Curriculum Vitae; nomination statement (self-nomination; describe the contribution and its significance within and outside of your institution); examples of work (photocopies, CDs, URL links, etc.); and letters of support (no more than 3; at least one letter from a dean or organisational leader outside the immediate work area)

The application deadline is April 11, 2011. All materials should be submitted electronically to excellenceinlibrarianshipaward@apa.org.
