APA seeks nominations for 2012 APA Excellence in Librarianship Award -

The American Psychological Association is seeking nominations for the 2012 APA Excellence in Librarianship Award. The award will be presented at the Educational and Behavioral Sciences Section (EBSS) Research Forum at the June 2012 American Library Association Annual Meeting in Anaheim, CA.

The APA Excellence in Librarianship Award was created to recognise an outstanding contribution to psychology and behavioural sciences librarianship within the past 5 years. The award consists of a $2,500 cheque and an inscribed plaque. The Award is open to both librarians and allied professionals with at least 5 years of professional experience. It recognises a contribution to psychology and behavioural sciences librarianship including instructions, project development, publications, research or service.

Nominations are now being accepted, and should include a current curriculum vitae; nomination statement (describe the contribution and its significance within and outside of the institution); letters of support (no more than three; at least one letter from a direct beneficiary of the services provided by the nominee is strongly encouraged); and contact information for the nominee.

The application deadline is April 16, 2012. All materials should be submitted electronically to excellenceinlibrarianshipaward@apa.org.
