APA to publish Online Journal Behavioral Development Bulletin -

The American Psychological Association has announced that it will begin publishing the online journal Behavioral Development Bulletin® in April. The biannual journal, previously published by Behavior Analyst Online, covers research in cognitive and emotional development, developmental theory, socialisation, education and speech-language pathology. Broadly focused on issues of life-span developmental psychology, it is particularly concerned with biological and environmental factors and systems that affect behavioural development.

The journal's goals are to better understand human development in behavioural terms, to inform developmental psychologists about innovations and new approaches in the field, and to publish articles about educational and clinical interventions that can assist development. Employing a behavioural analytic approach, research-based articles frequently examine factors such as reinforcement and environment that influence behavioural development and behaviour change. The journal includes articles in five recurring sections: Behavioral Assessment and Intervention in Children; Developmental Approaches to Clinical and Counseling Psychology; Behavior-Developmental-Based Education; Positive Adult Development; and Speech-Language Pathology and Applied Behavior Analysis.

Behavioral Development Bulletin is edited by Dr. Michael Lamport Commons and Dr. Martha Pelaez. Commons holds several positions in the department of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is a founder of the Journal of Adult Development, the Society for the Quantitative Analyses of Behavior, and the Society for Research in Adult Development. Pelaez is a Frost professor in the department of leadership and professional studies in the College of Education at Florida International University. Prospective contributors and subscribers are encouraged to visit the journal's APA home page.

Articles published in Behavioral Development Bulletin are also available through PsycARTICLES®, the most used full-text database in psychology and one of the most popular databases in all scholarly disciplines and fields. PsycARTICLES is available to a global audience of nearly 3,400 institutions and 60 million potential users.
