Applications for Eugene Garfield Award for Innovation in Citation Analysis now available -

The application for the newly established award honouring the life and work of the late Dr. Eugene Garfield, founder of the Web of Science and pioneer in Information Science, was made available by Clarivate Analytics, the owner of the Web of Science.

Clarivate Analytics announced its plans to pay tribute to the late Dr. Garfield in a news release last month after he passed away on February 26.

Named for the Web of Science founder, this newly created award plans to celebrate Dr. Garfield's legacy in scientific discovery by offering its recipient $25,000 USD, access to Web of Science data and the opportunity to present at a memorial symposium in Dr. Garfield’s honour. The awardee will also be invited to participate in meetings of the Clarivate Scientific Advisory Board, as well as in one of the Annual Reviews conferences in 2017 or 2018, airfare and conference fees paid.

Eligibility for the award requires that applicants are early-career researchers with no more than a PhD + 10 years. Eligible researchers wishing to be considered for the award should obtain their application and further direction from the Clarivate Analytics website. The required application, CV and two letters of recommendation should be submitted in English as a PDF file to Katie.Betzner@Clarivate.com, no later than 11pm US ET on June 14, 2017.
