Technology publisher Apress, US, has announced that over 200 of its books are now available directly from Amazon's Kindle Store as Kindle Editions. Also, Apress' entire catalogue will be available on Kindle by the end of 2008.
Kindle is Amazon's portable reader that wirelessly downloads books, blogs, magazines, newspapers and personal documents to a crisp, high-resolution electronic paper display that looks and reads like real paper, even in bright sunlight. More than 170,000 books are currently available via the tool.
Apress has been making its entire list of published books available as e-books since 2005 via the Apress eBookshop at http://eBookshop.apress.com. The decision to make all Apress books available as Kindle Editions is claimed to stem from the company's continued commitment to provide information to its readers in the way they need and want. Apress books will be available in the Kindle Store immediately on publication by parallel release with its own PDF e-books.
