ARL and ACRL sponsor virtual listening session on OSTP policy guidance: ensuring free, immediate, and equitable access to federally funded research -

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) are sponsoring a virtual listening session about the recent US Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) policy guidance ‘Ensuring Free, Immediate, and Equitable Access to Federally Funded Research.’ The session is scheduled to be held on November 16 at 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.(EST).

In this session the academic/research library community will share statements and top-of-mind issues with members of the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Subcommittee on Open Science (SOS) about the new public-access memo. The updated policy guidance includes a number of changes from the 2013 OSTP public-access memo ’Expanding Public Access to the Results of Federally Funded Research.’ ARL has published a side-by-side comparison of the two memos.

This session would be of interest to researchers interested in the new OSTP requirements; academic and research librarians and library community; university administrators interested in supporting research activities; and agency personnel interested in hearing comments from stakeholders.

This virtual listening session is free and open to the library community. Interested parties may register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_H0MeBuH9TcyYgmb9ED_W4g
