The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has revealed the co-hosts for its 2026 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Institute, a key initiative aimed at fostering inclusive leadership and organizational development within research libraries. The 2026 DEI Institute will be co-hosted by Rutgers University Libraries, Kean University’s Nancy Thompson Learning Commons, Montclair State University Libraries, New Jersey Institute of Technology Library, Penn State University Libraries, and Seton Hall University Libraries. The event will be held at Rutgers University.
The ARL DEI Institute is designed to enhance the capacity of participants to drive meaningful change within their communities by focusing on critical DEI principles, organizational leadership, and development. Attendees, including ARL member representatives, senior leaders, and the broader library community, will engage in a concentrated learning experience centered on these timely topics.
This institute is supported by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program, ensuring its continued impact on fostering diversity and equity within the academic and research library sector.
ARL’s DEI Institutes are a part of its broader commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and leadership across its member institutions and beyond.
