The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) has announced the election of new Editors-in-Chief (EICs) for its three open-access journals — Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science (IOVS), Journal of Vision (JOV) and Translational Vision Science & Technology (TVST).

Schultz/Ruth Works Professor of Ophthalmology, a professor of biophysics, cell biology, neurobiology and anatomy and professor of biomedical engineering at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Dennis Levi will return for a second term as Editor-in-Chief of JOV, following Dr. Andrew B. Watson. Levi currently serves as professor of optometry and vision science at University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Levi aims to speed up reviewing and publication times, increase JOV’s impact factor, expand the article level metrics, and work toward a financial model for the journal that is affordable to authors and can be sustained in the long run.

Dr. Roy Chuck will serve as only the second Editor-in-Chief of TVST, following inaugural EIC, Dr. Marco Zarbin. Chuck also serves as the Paul Henkind Chair in Ophthalmology and professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
