ASABE unveils Figshare-powered portal to make supplementary research data openly available, citable, and discoverable -

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) have announced the launch of a platform to make supplementary research data openly available, citable, and discoverable with a Figshare-powered portal - https://asabe.figshare.com/.

Supplementary research data published in the journals — Transactions of the ASABE, Applied Engineering in Agriculture, and Journal of Agricultural Safety and Health — will be eligible for submission. With an easy-to-use deposit form available at https://asabe.figshare.com/submit, authors can now submit their research data and associated metadata for publication. Research data can be submitted in any file format and a number of item types are accepted, including media, datasets, posters, conference contributions, software, data management plans, and more.

Once published, the supplementary data will be openly available and assigned a DOI. It can also include information on the related publication submitted through ScholarOne, allowing viewers of the research data to go directly to the publication page from the Figshare Portal page.

For maximum discoverability, research data is also marked for indexing in search engines like Google, Google Scholar, and Google Dataset Search. Usage metrics, including views, downloads, citations, and Altmetrics, are also publicly displayed on item pages.
