SciVee, a video platform solutions provider to the STM market, has announced that the Association for Computing Machinery has agreed to assess the SciVee video platform for its flagship publication, Communications of the ACM. Communications of the ACM claims to be the most highly cited journal in the field of computer science.
The six-month trial is to determine how SciVee offerings can supplement and enhance ACM journals to increase article views, broaden reader interest and promote authors. ACM publishes more than 50 peer-reviewed journals and niche magazines circulated in print and online to over 1.5 million computing professionals from more than 190 countries worldwide.
This trial primarily focuses on the SciVee PubCast, which is a synchronised video abstract that enables a reader to see and hear the author discuss highlighted sections of a journal article in a full multimedia presentation online. It offers a more dynamic way to absorb and retain scientific knowledge. A PubCast promotes greater understanding of an author's work and increases its impact through broad distribution on the Internet.
