Association for Computing Machinery releases inaugural issue of ACM Transactions on Computing for Healthcare -

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has released the inaugural issue of ACM Transactions on Computing for Healthcare (HEALTH), a new journal envisioned as the premier publication of high-quality research on how computing is improving healthcare. HEALTH is multidisciplinary in scope, intersecting computer science, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, behavioural and social science, psychology, and the health field in general.

The inaugural issue of ACM Transactions on Computing for Healthcare focuses on wearable technologies for smart health. Articles include a study of the use of wearable devices for diagnostics and the guidance of treatment, as well as a feasibility study of monitoring the deterioration of outpatients using data collected by wearables.

In addition to Co-Editors-in-Chief Lee and Stankovic and Information Director Meiyi Ma of the University of Virginia, the HEALTH editorial board includes Advisory Board Members Deborah Estrin of Cornell University; William Kaiser of University of California Los Angles; Rosalind Picard of Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and 27 Associate Editors drawn from countries around the world, including China, Denmark, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Norway, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
