Award-winning literature and networking events take centre stage at Frankfurt Book Fair, day 2 -

On the second day of the Book Fair, highlighted events included panels on the future of content with "Copyright Clearance Center" discussing open access and the Book Fair media partner "Press Reader" talking about disruption in newspapers and magazines. Additionally, a photo exhibition dedicated to the winners of this year's edition of the "European Union Prize for Literature" (EUPL) - the only prize honouring the best new literary voices from all over Europe – was organised at Hall 4.0 F.

One-on-one interviews were held at Business Club Hall 4.2 Dimension, Room, 4.2. Guests offered a look behind the scenes of the international publishing world. Their discussions highlighted global, as well as market and segment-specific developments and trends.

At Hall 4.0 C80, John H. McGlynn of the Lontar Foundation, the world's premier publisher of Indonesian literary work in translation, spoke of opportunities for the publication of Indonesian literary translations abroad.

Social media creates the framework for global and interactive communication. Even key players in foreign policy use the tools of Web 2.0. Which forms of participation do foreign policy actors offer citizens beyond likes and hashtags? How do they use the results of these interactions? Unlimited Web - Unlimited Communication? The "Gobal Citizen" was the topic of discussion at the Weltempfang - Stage, Hall 3.1 L25.

Other highlights for the day included crossmedia storytelling with the launch of the "Pillars of the Earth" video game from international bestselling writer Ken Follett; the announcement of nominees for the "Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award" for children's literature; and the announcement of the "Global Illustration Award".

The 'frankfurt digital night,' at 8pm on the second day, is the evening event for digital publishing professionals during the Frankfurt Book Fair. About 400 experts from publishers, bookstores and development companies joined the frankfurt digital night to exchange ideas and discuss the future of digital publishing. The event was held within Frankfurt's vibrant and exciting club scene in the very heart of the city.
