The Indian Journal of Ophthalmology (IJO) has announced that back files of the past fifty five years of the journal are now available online. Except for a couple of issues, the entire collection of over 3,500 articles is currently available for free access at www.ijo.in.
Published 6 times a year, IJO is the official scientific journal of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS). It seeks to provide opportunities for free exchange of ideas and information. The journal originated as a platform for the scientific expression of the AIOS which is the umbrella society to which almost all ophthalmologists in India belong.
With a print circulation of over 10,000, IJO is PubMed and SCI indexed. The journal's website is accessed by over 1,500 visitors every day, mainly from the US and Europe.
