EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced that the Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS), one of the most prestigious universities in the Republic of Azerbaijan, has implemented EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS). EBSCO Discovery Service will play a very important role in the school's plan, Towards Our Future, which identifies strategic directions for BHOS library development over the next three years. BHOS was established as a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) in 2011 under the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
A significant component of Towards Our Future includes catering for the changing needs of researchers and learners by providing digital materials and services. As the first university in Azerbaijan to implement EDS, BHOS sees EDS as an essential part of its development and so far the experience has been very positive.
