Beijing Normal University opts for Ex Libris Alma -

Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that Beijing Normal University (BNU) has opted for the Ex Libris Alma® library management service. The University has been using the Ex Libris Aleph® integrated library system since 2000, when it became the first university in China to adopt the system.

BNU chose Alma to provide a unified workflow for BNU's print, electronic, and digital resources. The open architecture of Alma, its rich and expanding collection of APIs, and Alma's cloud-based platform were essential factors in BNU's decision.

According to Professor Zhang Qiwei, library director of BNU, it is crucial for BNU to integrate its currently diverse library systems to be able to manage all their collections—print, electronic, and digital—within a single system. It is expected that the Alma usage data and analytics will make decision-making process more effective.
