Non-profit electronic archiving service provider Portico, US, has entered into an agreement with Bentham Open to preserve the latter's online journals collection. Bentham Open publishes open access journals, exclusively online, in all major disciplines of science, including engineering, mathematics, chemistry, medicine, life sciences, pharmaceutical science, earth sciences, social sciences, and environmental science.
Through this agreement with Portico, the publisher seeks to ensure that its online journal collection will be preserved and available for future scholars, researchers and students. In addition, Bentham has named Portico as a mechanism to fill post-cancellation access claims and has also agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico.
Earlier this month, Portico announced an agreement with US-based Ammons Scientific Ltd. to preserve the latter's two online journals - Perceptual and Motor Skills and Psychological Reports. Ammons also agreed to make an annual financial contribution to Portico and designated the Portico Archive as an official delivery platform for post-cancellation access claims.
With this latest inclusion, over 7,900 e-journals and 4,400 e-books titles have now been entrusted to the Portico archive.
